Loop Research (“we,” “us”) operates loopresearch.net. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
When you place an order: your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and order details. Online payments are processed by PayPal: your card or PayPal account details go directly to PayPal, and we never see or store your full card number. If you pay another way, such as by check or Zelle, we receive the payment details that method provides, such as your name, bank name, and the account information printed on a check, and we use them only to process and record your payment.
When you use our contact form: your name, email address, subject, and message.
Automatically: when you visit the site, we and our service providers receive your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and the referring page. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies, described below.
How we use your information
We use it to:
- process and ship orders, and send order confirmations and shipping updates
- provide product support and respond to your messages
- prevent fraud and spam, and keep the site secure
- understand how the site is used so we can improve it
- meet our tax, accounting, and other legal obligations
We do not use your information for targeted advertising.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the store, and only as needed for them to do that work:
- Payment processing: PayPal, which processes online payments under its own privacy policy. Payments by check or Zelle are handled through our bank.
- Shipping: Pirate Ship, which we use to create shipping labels, and the carrier delivering your order (UPS or USPS). They receive your name, shipping address, and phone number to deliver your order.
- Spam and abuse prevention: Google reCAPTCHA (Google’s privacy policy and terms apply), and Akismet by Automattic, which checks contact form submissions.
- Site statistics and image delivery: Jetpack by Automattic, which collects aggregated visit statistics and serves images through the WordPress.com content network.
- Hosting: Bluehost
We may also disclose information when required by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies
The site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work: keeping items in your cart and completing checkout. reCAPTCHA and Jetpack Stats also set or read cookies for spam protection and site analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout may not work without them.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. We don’t track visitors across other websites, and we don’t currently change our site’s behavior in response to Do Not Track signals.
How long we keep information
We keep order records as long as needed for warranty, support, and tax and accounting purposes, generally 7 years. We keep contact form messages as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of support conversations.
Your choices and rights
You can contact us through our contact form to:
- request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct it
- ask us to delete it
We will respond within a reasonable time. We may keep some information when the law requires it, for example order records needed for tax purposes.
Security
The site uses encrypted HTTPS connections, and online payments are handled by PayPal. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information
Children
Our products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date above.
